The Munschauer lab at the Institute of Medical Virology at Goethe University is seeking a motivated doctoral researcher in the area of molecular virology to work on an innovative ERC-funded research project. The project is centered on the systematic functional dissection of RNA-protein complexes at the virus-host interface and will bring together experimental and computational scientists. The Munschauer lab takes an RNA-centric approach to study how RNA viruses interface with their hosts and how host cells respond to infection. The successful applicant will work with a dynamic team of scientists and will apply a cutting-edge suite of systems virology techniques to dissect the RNA biology of viral infections. Mechanistically dissect RNA-protein and protein-protein interactions between viruses and their hosts Characterize transcriptome, proteome and interactome dynamics in advanced virus infection models Work with diverse RNA viruses (IAV, RSV, SARS-CoV-2) in a BSL-2 and BSL-3 environment Collaborate with wet lab scientists and bioinformaticians
