PhD position in Molecular Virology
Aufgaben:
The Munschauer lab at the Institute of Medical Virology at Goethe University is seeking a motivated doctoral researcher in the area of molecular virology to work on an innovative ERC-funded research project. The project is centered on the systematic functional dissection of RNA-protein complexes at the virus-host interface and will bring together experimental and computational scientists. The Munschauer lab takes an RNA-centric approach to study how RNA viruses interface with their hosts and how host cells respond to infection. The successful applicant will work with a dynamic team of scientists and will apply a cutting-edge suite of systems virology techniques to dissect the RNA biology of viral infections.
Mechanistically dissect RNA-protein and protein-protein interactions between viruses and their hosts
Characterize transcriptome, proteome and interactome dynamics in advanced virus infection models
Work with diverse RNA viruses (IAV, RSV, SARS-CoV-2) in a BSL-2 and BSL-3 environment
Collaborate with wet lab scientists and bioinformaticians
Qualifikationen:
Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related field in the life sciences
Background or specialization in virology
Experience working with infectious material, particularly RNA viruses
Strong written and spoken English language communication skills
Highly motivated, organized, collaborative and independent
Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required.
