Here's your opportunity to become a vital part of our team as an Assistant Breeder (m/f/d) within our Sugar Beet Resistance Breeding department. This position is in full-time with a permanent contract and to be based in our Headquarters KWS SAAT SE &\; Co KGaA in Einbeck. What Awaits You: Innovation at its Best: Collaborate closely with breeders and technical assistants to plan, execute, and optimize trials for the selection of robust sugar beet varieties. Data-Driven Excellence: Conduct and analyze yield trials and resistance experiments, contributing to the development of high-performing varieties. Pioneering Science: Take the lead in planning and evaluating marker-assisted selections (e.g. MAS/MABC), staying on the cutting edge of plant breeding technology. Process Enhancement: Support our team in optimizing breeding processes and schemes, helping us reach new heights in sustainable agriculture. Global Impact: Be part of the planning, implementation, and assessment of seed production projects, both locally and abroad, making a worldwide impact. Empowered Projects: Undertake independent project work, such as backcrossing programs and methodological projects, where your innovation can shine. Communicate Your Findings: Collaborate on the creation of reports and presentations to share your insights and contributions with the wider team. International Teamwork: Work within a diverse, international team of breeding assistants, breeders, and scientists, enriching your experience and expanding your horizons. What You Bring: A degree in Plant Breeding, Agriculture, or Plant Sciences (BSc/MSc). Knowledge of practical plant breeding, including genetic markers, and experience in conducting and statistically analyzing field trials. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, complemented by excellent teamwork. A reliable and self-driven work ethic. Proficiency in both written and spoken English, German is an advantage. Excellent skills in MS Office, especially Excel and Access. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10-15%). A valid Class B driver's license.
